Reverse Sun Damage.. It Is Possible!!!

We've all been told or have heard.... "protect your skin from the sun's damaging rays. It's for your own good...really!" You may have also heard, "If you don't, you're putting yourself at risk for skin cancer, which can be deadly." What's more, you're subjecting yourself to premature skin aging. Which means; wrinkles, sun spots, dry, dull skin.

Be that as it may, we've all walked out of the house with out applying any protection what so ever, before hitting the beach, or going to outdoor sporting events.  Instead of beating yourself up now, tackle your sun damage issues in one of these many ways.

Let it be said again... prevent damage with a SPF sunscreen of at least 30, and one that's water-resistant and blocks both UVA and UVB rays. Apply it every day, no matter how cloudy, and never, ever neglect the skin on your face. Plus, if you opt for one of the following treatments, SPF is essential to maintain your results.

Lighter and brighter skin can be achieved without the use of potentially harmful lightening ingredients. Take the natural approach and consult with your beauty expert to find the best take home products that will lighten and brighten skin. There are several lines of skin care products that can significantly reduce hyper-pigmented areas. DNA Health Institute products use 100% natural plant phenols and phytonutrients whose main objective is to suppress melanin production. These MediClear Skin Lightening Serums and MediClear Skin Lightening Washes gradually and effectively lighten heavily pigmented areas in mature and photo damaged skin. Use them with MediClear Vitamin C Crystals. This powerful accelerator boosts results and contributes anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant benefits. When combined with one of the MediClear lines medical strength clarifiers or DNA's anti-aging  treatments Medi-C will promote a polished, even skin tone, increase collagen production and, as reported by the FDA, help rebuild healthy skin tissue.

Ask your dermatologist about a prescription of hydroquinone, the go-to treatment for dark spots caused by the sun thanks to its ability to block the enzyme that activates melanin production. Use it with vitamin C and retinoids (your derm can direct you) for a well-rounded skin-care regime.

For particularly stubborn spots, consider chemical peels or non-ablative lasers that remove the top layer of skin and improve discoloration, fine lines and wrinkles.

And finally, very dark spots can be ablated with another intensity of lasers that break up discoloration deep in the skin. The treated spot will take a week or so to fully heal and you'll see final results in a few months.
