How Important is What/When You Do.... to Your Skin???

A Day & Night Skin Routine...

During the Day
Need a hot shower to start the day? That's a good start, because the steam of a morning shower will open your pores and allow your cleanser to work better.

Don’t use the same soap you do at night though. Your skin isn't as ‘dirty’ in the morning as it is at the end of the day. So, if you use the same routine in the morning, you run the risk of stripping essential oils from your skin. Choose a gentle clarifying cleanser like Kiss My Face Potent & Pure Creamy Face Cleanser for your a.m. washes—if your skin feels uncomfortable and tight afterward, your cleanser is still too strong.

Dark under-eye circles can make you look tired. Deal with them by applying an eye gel or cream containing caffeine 100% Pure Organic Coffee Bean - Caffeine Eye Cream. Blood in the capillaries can pool under the eyes and cause the shadowy look, but products with caffeine can make a huge difference in the microcirculation around the eye. Also use your ring finger to apply, as it will exert the least amount of pressure and pulling on the sensitive eye area.

Because skin takes much more of a beating during the day than at night, take steps to protect it from the elements. Use a sunscreen Kiss My Face Face Factor w/SPF 30 for Face & Neck with broad-spectrum protection (to block both UVA and UVB rays) before you apply moisturizer, or look for an SPF/moisturizer combo 100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Tinted Moisturizer. It contains hefty antioxidants like vitamins C and E for extra fortification to fight against the barrage of free radicals you’ll face throughout the day.

During the Night
Any evening routine must first undo the damage done throughout the day. Remove makeup first with an oil based product Aubrey Organics Herbessence Makeup Remover, then Kiss My Face Potent & Pure Creamy Face Wash gets rid of remaining dirt and grime with a heavy-duty cleanser DNA Creme of Nectar Soothing Wash. Slough off dead skin cells with a gentle exfoliant like DNA Phyto-Lipid Hydrating Scrub. Exfoliants remove the top layer of skin so reparative night products can penetrate the skin more effectively.

When choosing a nighttime moisturizer Aubrey Organics Rosa Mosquetta Night Creme W/Alpha Lipoic Acid, look for heavier creams and oils with anti-inflammatory, soothing ingredients like white tea and chamomile.

After focusing on your face, don’t forget the rest of your body. Spend a couple of extra dollars to exfoliate your entire body with a loofah to increase circulation and glow. Then apply a therapeutic hair and scalp oil before bed Aubrey Organics White Camellia Oil Soothing Emollient. Oil left in the hair or scalp for 6 to 8 hours can do stressed scalps and hair a world of good. Patients will notice softer hair and healthier scalps after shampooing oils out of their hair in the morning.

Finally, get a good night’s sleep! The more you sleep, the more time your body has to work on creating new skin cells, so all the treatments and ingredients you feed your body can work effectively.

Good in Medicine Cabinet & Your Skin Care???

So Many Uses for Aloe Vera

History of the Aloe Vera Plant

The aloe plant has been used in the fields of medicine and cosmetics for centuries. Ancient records show that the medicinal properties and healing benefits of the aloe vera plant have been known for over 5000 years.

In fact, Aloe Vera gel is an indispensable part of your herbal first aid kit. The leaf juices of the aloe plant have important medicinal uses making aloe one of the most respected medicinal plants found in many gels, creams and lotions. Modern researchers have identified several reasons why aloe gel spurs wound healing. It has antibacterial, anti-fungal and antiviral compounds that help prevent wound infections.

Aloe Vera Skin Products

Ancient Chinese and Egyptians used aloe vera skin products to treat burns, wounds, and to reduce fever. Cleopatra, the Egyptian Queen, credited her irresistible charm and vibrant beauty to regular use of aloe gel. Legend reports that Alexander the Great, upon the advice of Aristotle, conquered the island of Socotra off the coast of Africa to secure supplies of aloe vera in order to treat the wounds of soldiers.

Aloe Vera has immune-stimulating and anti-inflammatory compounds, and it stimulates collagen synthesis and skin regeneration after a burn.  Aloe gel contains vitamins C and E, plus the mineral zinc. Aloe Vera gel is soothing, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial - helps heal acne, improve the appearance of wrinkles, and hydrate damaged skin.

Applying a thin layer of Aloe Vera gel will help ease discomfort caused by painful skin irritations, flea and insect bites.
